There is always enough time for everything. Often, the people you met and became friends with offer to move to their place. We always offer if any of the new friends leave before us. And they give the room without any problems if there is no one to stay with. This is stated in the rules. Especially at 5*!.

They don’t always give another number, I was only relocated once, usually they leave the same one.

Perhaps there was no check-in, so they left it. For example, we were recently in Cuba, where you can negotiate with the maid to leave your things and then come back to pack up; she opens the room for you. They didn’t do it that way in Egypt. Besides, there was no need the last few times. We checked out of the hotel in the morning. The whole night was ours.
