Who crossed the border from Poland to Kaliningrad?
My friends use the route, believing that it is easier than through Istanbul. They have a Russian passport and a residence permit in Spain. The transfer from Kaliningrad airport to Gdańsk airport was 200 euros; if you take someone with you, you can split the amount in half.
We crossed paths in mid-May, I really liked it, we got there quickly, all the borders were crossed fast, better than through Finland, not to mention Estonia, awful
@Olga: Thank you very much for the information!
Could you recall how long it takes from Gdańsk airport to Kaliningrad, including the border crossing?
@Lydia: Good morning! It took us about 4 hours to get from Gdańsk to Kaliningrad, including time at the borders. We left at 15:00 and arrived in Kaliningrad exactly at 19:00. Buses in Gdańsk depart from the station to Kaliningrad. You can get from the airport by bus or taxi; I took a taxi, which is cheap. If finances allow, you can book a transfer from Gdańsk to Kaliningrad, but it is several times more expensive than the bus. There are options, but the main thing is that it is very convenient and fast compared to Finland and Estonia.
@Svetlana: Thank you, thank you! I am very grateful!
@Lydia: According to the schedule, the Kaliningrad-Gdansk bus takes 3.5 hours, but actually takes 4-5 hours: 1 hour from the station in Kaliningrad to the border, at least 1 hour at the border, and 2 hours from the border to the station in Gdansk. At the border, buses are allowed through without waiting (which is an advantage compared to cars), but there may be a passenger on the bus with problematic documents. Travel time depends on the road situation, so plan for about 5 hours on the road. My friends use transfers more often, but they plan for about the same travel time.
why halve?
@Svetlana: Taxi rental - 200 euros, if you take a passenger, it will be 100 euros per person.
