I can say that in Germany, sorting garbage is a pleasure, everything is very well thought out. The necessary containers are right by your side, with a minimum of extra movements.

In Germany, waste sorting is much simpler than, for example, sorting in Russia, if one chooses to do it. The main waste is sorted into 4 fractions: non-sortable, paper, all plastics+metals+composites, as well as glass containers in the area. In Russia, actual secondary waste sorting involves over 10 separate fractions (PET bottle, PET not a bottle, polypropylene mass, polypropylene film, polystyrene, glass, metal, composites (only of the Tetra Pak type), low and high-density polyethylene and further divide them into mass and film, paper, cardboard, PVC) which also need to be approached, usually by car. This brings us to the question of "how difficult it is to sort waste in Germany." As an enthusiast, it is somewhat uncomfortable for me to put all plastics in one bag, and I would prefer sorting into 10+ fractions at home. But I understand that it is difficult to implement on a large scale, at least not now, especially with manufacturers not having very high actual responsibility.

There might also be a compost bin, but it is far from everywhere.
