Cheaper does not mean easier. The cheapest taxis on Lantau Island are the blue cars, but you can't just hail them in traffic or choose them at will. Taxis here are regionally bound. It is cheaper to travel by metro, buses, trams, and ferries. And use the hotel shuttle bus, if available.
Regular city taxi. But public transport is very well developed. It is convenient and cheaper to use.
To catch a taxi, it’s enough to raise your hand
Not all taxi drivers speak English, they can’t even navigate properly using Google Maps
They might slightly cheat on the fares
You can call an Uber, the price will be about the same and there won’t be communication problems
