@Andrei: I exchanged old dollars at the official exchange office in the airport in December. They accepted them without any questions and at the stated (most unfavorable) rate on the screen. They didn't have any distinctions between old or new ones. I don't think anything has changed for them.

How much will 100 dollars of the old design differ from the new one?

@Andreya: They buy the old design for one hundred dollars for 1,000,000 rials cheaper. For example, if they buy 100 new dollars, that's 58,000,000 rials. They buy old hundred-dollar bills for 57,000,000 rials.

We exchanged at Ferdusi in the exchange office. First, we agreed on the rate, then showed the white dollars (there were also blue ones available), the exchanger did not indicate in any way that something was wrong, and exchanged at the agreed rate.

It was in mid-May, and there was no higher rate along the route, moreover, later they refused to accept the "white" ones.
