Maalos was not to my liking. It was a bit scruffy. Even on the central streets, it somehow felt unkempt.

There are many constructions in Daravanda too, but everything feels a bit tidier somehow.

I didn't make it to the tourist beach. I had to trek through the jungle, there was no clearly defined trail, nothing marked on Google Maps, I didn't download maps.me and didn't find a reason to do so during the process)

But it turns out that the hotels are on one side of the island, and Bikini Beach is on the other. If I had come to swim, sunbathe, and chill - I wouldn't have liked that.

But I came for the reef, so the reef. There is a wall, there are completely bare areas, and there is a large section of gradual reef where it's great to snorkel without diving. But personally, the water looks murky from the surface, so I ended up diving anyway.

And then there are those fleas.

In the end, I was saved by the spray from an Italian named Fabrizio, who decided to stay in Maalos to live, but those fleas - he says it's a disaster, they're everywhere, and the locals are absolutely indifferent to it. Just like to the garbage, dirt, and everything else) They simply don't care)

In general, maybe I'm just biased about my swamp, but I definitely liked Daravanda more.

The only cool thing about Maalos is the coastline. In Daravanda, there are wave breakers, so the view, of course, isn't particularly paradise-like.
