Will they accept dollars with a stamp in the Maldives?
I'm not 100% sure, but I read somewhere that they don't take them, it's better to take clean ones

It's very difficult with dollars, literally a mm strain or a year old is definitely not accepted. This is about local.

@Yana: The local currency will be useful if you go to a local island, but if you are going to a resort, then dollars.
@Yana: At the airport, they exchange money. Their rate is better. If you're going to the resort, transactions are in dollars; if you're going local - then for hotels and excursions in dollars, but it's more advantageous to use rupees in shops and restaurants.
