I really need advice - I'm choosing hotels/apartments in Mauritius.

In which part of the island is it better to settle if we don't plan to rent a car, but still want to see the main attractions, and good beaches are also important? According to reviews, is Flic-en-Flac optimal in this case? Or is it still better to find accommodation in the northern part? Thank you in advance for your help.

Everyone chose differently here. I chose Perebeir for myself. We're going to take a taxi)

I also lived on the flick and I'm happy.

And why choose just one? We lived in the north of the island (near Mon Choisy) and near Flik. The distances on the island are large, and there was no desire to waste time uselessly on the road.

Not everyone likes to move.

@Ksenia: This is an eternal topic. What’s better - to pack a suitcase in Russia so that you can pack and unpack it in half an hour, or spend hours traveling to the sightseeing spot and back to the apartment/hotel?

@Natalia: Yes, thank you for the advice, I am also leaning towards spending 3-4 days in the north, and then move to a place closer to the activities :)

@Anna: if there were more time, we would have lived on the east side of the island, the beaches there are magical, but instead we went from Flik.

@Natalia: What is so magical about those beaches in the East? I'm just curious.

@leto: A paradise for introverts, with snow-white sand like flour, turquoise water, a cove for snorkeling, and hardly any people everywhere.

@Natalia: Yes, beautiful, I like it too. What are these beaches called and are there any rental machines?

@leto: The first two photos are from Blue Bay Beach, the last two photos are from Pointe d’Esny Beach; there are apartments there.

@leto: It's fine to go there only in the warm season.
