Is the best beach in Mauritius Trou aux Biches?
We lived on Turo obish, we liked it, we chose based on reviews on different sites, but there are people who don't understand it, pick out what you want from the beach from a bunch of reviews
It's a matter of taste. I intentionally chose a hotel between Trou aux Biches and Mont Choisy. In the end, I liked the second one more, and I enjoyed the beach even more (we were lucky that it was not crowded on the day of our visit) as we admired the waves at the flick, while Le Morne did not impress us.
In my opinion, the best on the island is Pointe d’Esny Beach (entrance and part of the beach only at Club Nautique De Pointe D'Esny), also on the east there is decent snorkeling (by Mauritian standards, of course) - Blue Bay Beach.
In the north - the beautiful Trou aux Biches, perfect for walking and swimming, the secluded little La Cuvette Grand Baie and the long pine-covered Mon Choisy.
In the south - the most decent Flic En Flac Beach.
At least so that it doesn't smell of gasoline.
@Anastasia: I don't remember the smell of gasoline, we were on the right side of the beach, near Beachcomber, and on the left where there were a lot of tied-up boats, they didn't bother us at all while swimming in the corals with the fish.
