Is it worth going to Nuwara Eliya these days?
One can actually not go to this town in any weather
Of course! One of the most beautiful places. Keep in mind that it's almost always drizzling there, and it won't be an exception this time. But you will definitely enjoy the beauty of the mountains amidst the descending fog. Overall, there are many places that are both beautiful for the soul and for entertainment.
Where did the mountains suddenly come from in Nuvaria?? It's just a little town in a lowland near a small lake with a nice smell.
@Natalia: Nuwara Eliya is the highest city in Sri Lanka, surrounded by mountains and hills on all sides.
@: Only by yourself in the lowlands, to see the mountains, hills, waterfalls, and tea plantations in Nuwara you can actually not walk at all.
I also wanted to stop in Nuwara after Ella, but in the end, I skipped it and went to Trinco through Sigiriya. It was a 6.5-hour journey, but overall it was fine. Now I understand that Ella is the best place.
Tell me, how did you get to Trincomalee from Nuwara Eliya? And is it worth stopping on the way to Sigiriya? My wife doesn't want to climb Lion Rock there.
@Andrey: You can climb to Pidurangala (it's opposite Sigiriya), from there you get an amazing view at sunrise, if the weather is nice.

@Andrey: On a rented car - Weligama-Ella-Trinco and back to Mirissa :) We visited Sigiriya and Pidurangala - but for some it's clear that climbing is hard, if your physical condition is normal, then it's just a warm-up. So at least it's worth visiting Pidurangala (the entrance fee is 1000 rupees), the atmosphere there is great.
@Andrey: The view from the neighboring mountain Pidurangala Rock is beautiful, but the ascent is not quite easy, and along the way, you'll encounter the magnificent ruins of the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, the individual locations of which are conveniently explored by car.

@Il'mir: In Ella, I found it to be more diverse (within walking distance a bridge, Adam's Peak, a waterfall). Nuwara Eliya can be done in one day, there is a park (paid park, well-kept) and tea fields, for residents of our latitudes, it's okay)
