Who went on safari in Yalu, how was it? Cool?
Not very cool
It seems to me that a lot depends on the guide-driver. We found various deer and an elephant very close, but because we miscalculated the time (and got the car stuck in a sandy pit), we didn't even make it to the area where leopards and bears live.
Just bumping over the bumps for 6 hours, we drove into the park, saw everyone except the leopard in the first hour, I told the driver
To turn around and go home and not waste my time
It can be considered an adventure! You race through the darkness at first, then you drive and admire the beautiful nature! Birds, little animals. We saw elephants with their babies several times. I have some kind of extraordinary sacred delight in front of them; I could just watch for hours.
Well, there are many buffaloes, crocodiles, and apparently mongooses.
And we watched the bears for an hour. The guide was more delighted than we were that they didn't leave.
He really wanted to show us the big cats, we drove an extra 2 hours, but they radioed that by the time we arrived, they had already left.
Beautiful, exhilarating, fun, why not go?
@Oksana: We didn't really think about it, but our guide was very quiet around the animals, he didn't allow talking, and he muted the engine. Basically, in equatorial countries, it's not safe in terms of wildlife. A monkey can bite at the hotel, or some snake. Just like at home, there can be an encephalitic tick or a rabid fox in the forest.
Is it safe? After all, wild animals are unpredictable.
@Oksana: 100% not safe) Especially elephants are unpredictable, I had the pleasure of running away from one.
@Kate: The same thing
@Kate: They say that not only will he trample it, but he will also sit on top of it afterwards, meaning there are simply 0 chances.
@Kate: Elephants are cruel, I am not afraid of crocodiles, but I am really afraid of these lovely creatures.
Everyone, is it also a bear?
@Zhanylya: And we haven't seen the bear yet.
@STR: you need to go to Colombo to catch the bear)
@iri: There are many places to see bears, the safari is generally a letdown.
@STR: So what's the point? People go to Yala for the bear and leopard, the others are just found everywhere, especially in the southeast.
