We plan to live in the Surin/Bang Tao area.
@Viktoriya: Well, then it's not a big deal. The exchange rate there is slightly worse than further south/closer to the center. But not enough to make it worth the trip just for the exchange (unless you're changing hundreds of thousands of dollars).

@Viktoriya: There are many exchange offices, sometimes several are located in a row and just as many across the street. Check out a few. The difference is currently just a few kopecks, the rate has decreased.
